Pick Customer window
Purpose
Use this window to search for and select a customer for a transaction. Customer information is maintained on the Add/Change Customer window.
This window may have different titles depending on how you are accessing it. Some of these include:
- Point of Sale window - accessed when starting a sales transaction
- Consignment (Batch Mode) window - accessed when entering a batch consignment
- Refund Deposit/Credit window - accessed when refunding deposits and credits
- Customer History window - accessed when reviewing a customer's transaction and business interaction history
To access this window
This window displays automatically any time you access a window based on a customer account. This includes the Customer History windows, Point of Sale windows, the Consignment & Purchase windows, and others.
You can also manually access this window in the following ways.
- Press F6 in the customer/account box on any window in AIMsi.
- Click Customer on the Sales Invoice window.

Item descriptions
Item | Description |

Look for |
Enter your search criteria. The grid automatically moves to the customer matching the value as you type. The information you enter in the box changes based on the currently selected column in the grid. For example, if the sort order is by last name, this box label is Look for Last Name and you should enter the customer's last name. If, however, the sort order is by customer account number, this box label is Look for Acct# and you should enter the customer's account number. |
(email address and type) |
Displays the email address and preferred email method, set up on the Add/Change Customer window, for the highlighted customer. |
grid columns A right angle bracket (>) identifies the column currently used to sort the grid. This grid may be sorted by Last Name, Acct#, Phone, or Name. |

Last Name |
Displays the last names and first initials of your customers. Click the column heading to sort the grid in ascending or descending order by last name. |
Acct# |
Displays the account number associated with each customer. Click the column heading to sort the grid in ascending or descending order by account number. |
Phone # |
Displays the home phone number associated with each customer. Click the column heading to sort the grid in ascending or descending order by last name. |
Name |
Displays the full name and address associated with each customer. Click the column heading to sort the grid in ascending or descending order by last name. |
O |
An asterisk in this column indicates the customer has an open account item. |
R |
An asterisk in this column indicates the customer has an active rental contract. |

Adv Search |
Click to open the Customer Search window where you can search for a customer using additional information such as a Social Security number or credit card number. |
Edit |
Click to open the Add/Change Customer window where you can make any changes to the customer's personal information, such as email address or price level. |
Add |
Click to open the Add/Change Customer - Add Customer window where you can create a new customer account. |
Select |
Select a customer name and click this button to open the next window and populate it with information for the customer. |
Cancel |
Exits the window. |
